MITIL [International Market for Independent & Local Broadcasters] June 20-23 2001:


A CALL FOR PROGRAMME ENTRIES

Creators, producers, broad- and webcasters of programmes within the field of local or independent broadcasting, feel frustrated when finding out that their achievements get stuck exclusively in the area they have initially been produced for.
Even more so, at the thought that the neighboring station may have covered the same subject.

There was no event where they could meet, discuss, exchange ideas, programmes other than the place called "coincidence".

The situation has changed.
MITIL has been created and will take place in Vevey, Lake Geneva, Switzerland.
It is the international event everybody in the field has been waiting for. It is the platform that gives them the opportunity to meet - no more by sheer coincidence – but with a definite purpose to do so, because every participant will be a potential business partner.

They will finally be able to "play" in the same league.
Everybody will be able to talk "shop" in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Producers and broadcasters seeking co-productions, or simply buy or sell "the" programme they have been looking for, ever since.

What is the procedure?
They are invited to have a close look at www.mitil.org and register online for the programme(s) they would like to show to potential future business partners by the end of April 2001. The tapes will be digitized and stored in a searchable database in order to become available for screening in individual cabins and for trade within the VideoKiosk area.

The entries may also take part in a competition running for the MITIL d'Or Awards - The golden MITIL.

MITIL is a unique opportunity to showcase independent productions to an international audience with the same interest and wave length and the ideal matchmaking platform between producers and broadcasters.

The slogan "Low Power, High Energy" will become what it says, thanks to the active participation of all concerned.
